Description
Since the beginning of the profession, therapists have been assessing patients using statically based, standard orthopaedic tests. But recently, there is a growing focus on functional tests and assessments in order to accurate identify the functional deficits of each patient and thus the treatment needed to resolve those deficits. Dr. Janda said that the test is the exercise and the exercise is the test. In light of Dr. Janda’s work, the relationship between chronic musculoskeletal conditions and Upper and Lower Crossed Syndromes will be described. Ultimately though, these conditions should be treated with functional rehab and functional, proprioceptive taping. The principles of these treatments will be covered.
