    Description
This engaging 90-hour course is designed for therapists who specialize in treating patients after breast cancer. It is also a good option for those who would like to split up the full Lymphedema Therapy Certification because of scheduling issues or to stretch out the cost of full certification. Therapists who successfully complete this Upper Extremity Lymphedema Certification course are welcome to complete the second half of the class at a later time.

This course teaches Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), the most effective treatment for chronic primary lymphedema (congenital) and secondary lymphedema. CDT is composed of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), compression bandaging, skin care, and patient-appropriate exercises. At the conclusion of this course, you will be certified in Upper-Extremity Lymphedema Therapy (CLT-UE) and can immediately start working with upper-extremity patients. As a graduate, you’ll be listed on our popular online therapist directory. You’ll also have unlimited access to exclusive, comprehensive online resources including over 50 instructional videos, 200+ reference articles, sample treatment forms, and more!

Klose Training’s instructors are highly-experienced, practicing lymphedema therapists. All are LANA-Certified. They routinely earn high marks from their students for their clinical expertise and caring, supportive demeanor. Typically, you will have the same instructor throughout the course. After the course, your instructor will continue to support you if you need advice regarding treatment challenges.

Prior to the start of the classroom (lab) portion of the course, you will complete a 45-hr Online Home Study Module that introduces you to lymphedema and the techniques used to treat it. The lessons ensure that every student coming into the classroom has a thorough understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system. The Module is composed of graphically-dynamic video lectures and demonstrations. Included is a lecture by Dr. Kathleen Francis, one of the few physicians in the U.S. specializing in lymphedema. An accompanying course manual reinforces the video presentations.

After completing the 45-hr online Home Study Module, you’ll be prepared for the 4½-day (45-hr) classroom training that focuses on hands-on practice of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and compression bandaging.
